To take the concepts of financial knowledge literally to clients, we partnered with Investopedia on the 2017 Financial Fitness Tour. This six-city tour ignited conversations about financial fitness with representatives from both companies speaking to hundreds of people about pocketbook issues, including managing debt, saving for college and retirement planning.

Inspired by his and his wife's personal experiences with cancer, Jim and Virginia Stowers wanted to give back to the countless people who made their lives so meaningful. To help do that, they founded the Stowers Institute for Medical Research to help the millions of people affected by devastating diseases.
The Institute seeks to improve life's quality through innovative approaches to the causes, treatment and prevention of diseases like cancer, diabetes and dementia.
Knowing this ambitious research takes a long-term commitment, Jim and Virginia endowed the Institute with a controlling interest in American Century Investments®, which has paid $1.4 billion in dividends since 2000.

Collective Investment Trusts: Collective investment trusts (CITs) are a pooled vehicle commonly used by ERISA retirement plans. CITs group assets from multiple plans into one pooled portfolio. CITs are only available to ERISA-qualified retirement plans, and are not available to the general public.
Separate Account: A separate account is a type of investment vehicle managed by professional asset managers. Separate accounts have unique structure that allows for more flexibility in customizing the investment portfolio to address specific client needs or investment objectives. Securities held in the account are owned directly by the investor or investors.
Exchange Traded Funds: Similar to a mutual fund, an exchange-traded fund (ETF) represents a group of securities, but the ETF trades on an exchange like an individual stock. An ETF generally follows the performance of an index, such as the S&P 500® Index.
SICAVs: A Société d'investissement à Capital Variable, or SICAV, is a publicly traded, open-end investment fund structure offered outside the United States. SICAV funds are similar to open-end mutual funds in the U.S, but are not available to U.S. domiciled investors.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Factors: A set of standards used by socially conscious investors to screen potential investments. Environmental issues consider how companies act as stewards towards the natural environment, including how they design their products, handle waste, manage their real estate, etc. Depending on the sector, social issues can include product safety and quality, cybersecurity, supply chain management and stakeholder engagement. Governance issues include business conduct, board independence, risk management structures and executive pay-for-performance alignment.
